Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at Food Network. Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive long, blonde hair with a bubbly personality, reveals simple methods to master and removes intimidation of restaurants dishes in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also worked at several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, has learned about Italian cuisine and its traditions, and participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America is where she went to earn an English degree as well as a communications certificate from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable learning experience for me. I couldn't study or accomplish enough. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. In Italy, she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian food and culture. It has had a profound impact on the way she prepares her food. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to improve the lives of kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about the dangers of childhood diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion and shares her knowledge of the culinary world when she travels throughout the US in both her roles as speaker and mentor. Anne was always grateful that she could share the passion of cooking with others.

Born in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Amy Carlson spent most of her early life in the Chicago region. However, when Amy was in junior high, she and her family also lived in the Middle East where her parents, Bob and Barb, taught at the American School. Amy is the mother of two sisters: Betsy and Lori, along with a brother Joe. Amy has traveled across Europe with her family and also independently.
